i came home to find
the head of my bed
along the north wall
a superhighway of sorts
to the colony of ants
that lives on our property
i’m not very tall
so i scooted
my pillow down a bit
and it was fine
for most of the night
until some of the swarm
took the wrong exit
and found their way
onto my head and that
had long long ago
been designated as
a dead end
